Salut a tous, Voici un rapport récent d'observation américain sur l'oie...

Bonne saison a vous tous... gang de chanceux.

ADAM'S FIELD REPORT:

The Birds have been pushing through Texas from Mexico and the Gulf coast of Texas for the past 2 weeks.

Arkansas had good gunning throughout the state the past 1.5 weeks. There are still juvies moving though Arkansas as well as northern Texas and LA.

There is some movement happening in North Texas and Oklahoma. Watch for these birds to head towards the snow line.

Kansas is loading up with snows, blues, Ross', specs, and a variety of Canada geese.

Missouri has all types of waterfowl including large numbers of light geese stretched out from the southern border to I-70. There are groups of 50-100k scattered throughout the entire state south of I-70. The first warm day over 40+ will produce a good migration to the northern border. The snow line is just south of I-70 which is keeping the birds from pushing north further.

Nebraska has seen its first few flocks but not many.

Illinois has a large number of light geese in the southern portion of the state. Hunting success has been marginal at best.

South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, and North Dakota are still deep in snow and the snow goose migration through these states as well will be slightly delayed this year.

Northern New Jersey / Southern New York are holding some ducks and lots of dark geese are present.

Report: "Seen tons of Canada geese and Jim said he's seen snow and Brant geese out where he lives (central Jersey).”

Southern NJ and Norther Maryland - Geese are still in the wintering regions with a few geese starting to push north. The Delaware bay area has a decent amount of light geese. More snow needs to melt for an all out migration back north.

North Carolina is enjoying decent gunning while the weather holds the birds from migrating north.

The snows in the Atlantic Flyway are offering very god opportunities this spring. The word from local hunters is that they are starving. There is a food shortage because of the heavy snow in many areas. Find a field with food and you’ll shoot some Greater Snows.

Adam
